Title	My Son's Story.
Hi, Welcome to Maitri.This is not my story,but my son's story.Since my son can not describe it in detail I will tell it for you.My son Edward D'Cunha, a brilliant boy in studies, became a Marine Officer with Shipping Corporation Of India(A Government Of India Undertaking).He continued in service till he fell sick with Schizophrenia and the The Shipping Corporation Of India convientenly sacked him from service by taking a resignation letter from him when he was going throuh an episode of his mental illness.We continued with his treatment with no help coming from any where for a suitable job for him until I came in contact with Dr.Harish Shetty one of the fouder member of MAITRI.Through continous interacting with Maitri Group and it's Counsellers and the support given by Dr.Harish Shetty I filed a case against Shipping Corporation of India under the Disability Act of 1995 which provide equal oportunities,protection of rights and full participation etc.for the disabled persons mentally and physically with The commissioner For persons with disabilties at Pune.The Case is pending with the commissioner from year 2002 and waitng for the order of the Honarable Commissioner.
